The College of Air Training 15th September 2011 - 7.30pm. Roy Underdown Pavilion, Spitfire Way, Hamble
At our next meeting, Phil Nelson will give an illustrated talk about the College of Air Training which was the last major operator of Hamble's airfield. Phil will outline the history of the College as well as talk about his work at the airfield.
The College of Air Training was formed in 1960 to train pilots for the National Airlines BOAC and BEA, which were later to become British Airways. The College also trained civil and military pilots from Britain and overseas, but unfortunately was forced to close in 1984.
New members and visitors are always welcomed! The cost is £1 a meeting.

Manor Farm: Try your hand at rolling a beeswax candle, taste delicious local honey and see an active bee hive close-up, with displays by Fareham & District Bee Keepers Assoc. Bursledon Windmill: Visit Hampshire’s only working windmill and enjoy hands-on activities inside the historic barn. Tours of the windmill tower available throughout the day, subject to availability.
