If you take the walk across the recreation ground to the left of Hamble Primary School you will make your way to the walkway through to The Royal Victoria Country Park. Take the path to the right and you will discover the Netley Military Cemetery in Cemetery Wood.

Cemetery Wood with it's Causican pines, Victorian yews and monkey puzzle trees from Chile now tower over the war-dead of several campaigns.

This peaceful and tranquil spot was carefully secluded from the main hospital as it is the resting place of soldiers who died at the hospital, (though only a small proportion of men died at the hospital when in their care).
