In 2008 Hampshire.net reported the History Society's successful bid to the National Lottery Awards scheme.

The Hamble Local History Society has been awarded a £2,100 grant from the National Lottery Awards to help Hamble to present and preserve its heritage.

The society proposes to buy computer equipment to help with presentations. The equipment is also planned to be used for record keeping and enhancing and storing photographs.
