Hamble Local History Society was formed in 1999, with the aim to promote interest in all aspects of history in Hamble and surrounding areas.
It has provided talks on a variety of local history subjects at its regular meetings and works with others to ensure that items of local interest are preserved for future generations. (A list of talks and reports of them can be found on the Society's website.)
The Society also provides advice & guidance to those requesting help when undertaking research into Hamble's history. It has also organised old picture exhibitions and in 2008 was awarded a National Lottery grant to help further its work.
The society holds its meetings at the Roy Underdown Pavilion, Baron Road, and new members are always welcomed. Details of future meetings and information about the society's activities can be found on its website.
