The old Hamble Social and Athletic Club started in the 1920's in the A V Roe Pavronian premises, before moving on to a clubhouse at the old Air Service Training site in 1930. The club moved to Beaulieu Road in 1933. Forty years later the old wooden building seen here was replaced by the more modern brick building of today at a cost of £40,000.
It was originally an all male affair. It was 1948/49 before ladies were allowed into the club. |
