Heard of Stern John? No, not the Southampton football star but "Stern John Foster" the chairman of Hamble Club FC, (also known as "slightly strict" John).

John has been chairman of the second most famous team to play in red and white stripes in Southampton, arguably the one with better form this year!

Hamble FC, also known as "the villagers", have been organising local football for over 30 years and have teams for youth through to vets playing on Saturday and Sunday at their Shell Mex home ground, Mount Pleasant Playing Fields and the College Playing Fields at Spitfire Way.

The club runs a friendly set-up and welcomes new competitive players or anyone wanting to join in training sessions just to get fit.
